Emaar has already finished a large number of towers at its large Downtown Dubai freehold development, some of the most expensive apartments in Dubai, but the news this week is that that the freehold developments centre piece, the record breaking Burj Dubai will be open and ready for the public before the year is out. This being Dubai, all dates should be taken with a pinch of salt, as any delay in the opening would hardly be the first Dubai property to fall foul to such a thing, but at the moment the date being given or the towers public opening is September this year as an update from the developers.
The tower has already attracted a huge deal of publicity, and given it has broken numerous records before it has even seen completion, this should come as no surprise. World’s tallest building and world’s tallest free standing structure are but a few of the accolades the Burj has picked up as it ascends into the Dubai sky. The tower has been an unbelievable hit with investors, and has given Emaar a good deal of attention around the globe. The exact height is being kept a close secret by Emaar, but the tower is expected to be somewhere in the region of 800 meters plus once completed.

Dubai Tallest Building 2009What ever height the tower finished up at, it will, and already is a new record. Dubai has always had a penchant for having the biggest, the best, and the most expensive, and with the Burj Dubai it has another new asset to add to its already impressive portfolio. Whilst the towers record breaking height is undoubtedly its main attraction the Burj Dubai does however have more to offer than just this to draw investors and visitors alike. The tower will not only offer residential freehold property, but also commercial freehold property with office space beginning on the 120th floor, plus the Burj will also be home to the world’s first Armani Hotel. However the designer’s involvement in the tower goes further, as he has also has a role in styling and decorating of some of the apartments on offer at the tower, which will be housed from the 9th to the 16th floor. Despite being some the most expensive residential and commercial property in Dubai, apartments and office space have had no trouble selling. Office space starts on the 120th floor, and at present only the 127th and 135th floors are still awaiting owners.

With its central location, and unbeatable views across the city, and for those high enough, out to sea, the tower has seen investors flock to grab a piece of freehold real estate on offer at the tower. With the huge Dubai Mall and the rest of Downtown Dubai in the surround proximity, it is fair to say the development has pretty much all entertainment and life style amenities covered. The Dubai Metro’s first line is also planned to be launched at the same time at the Burj. The 70 stations will mark the start of the future of Dubai’s new transport infrastructure. Come September, Dubai should really be in for a treat.
